Greetings,

My name is Emiel Botterman and I am a master’s student at Ghent University, hence my username embotter. I don’t live in Ghent but about 15 minutes by train, in Deinze. If you ever visit Belgium, I recommend skipping my city and visiting Ghent. From there, you can rent a bike and take a ride towards my hometown. It would be a beautiful ride among grasslands and it would be mostly flat.
I am a master’s student in physics and astronomy and combine this with top-level sports, so the teaching style fits perfectly with my irregular lifestyle.
I expect this course to teach me a bit more about solid-state physics. In previous courses, the material only touched the ‘ab-initio’ approaches, so I hope this will be explored in more depth. To then also be useful later in research.
