I feel that “materials from thought” may be a bit of a misnomer, but the idea of reshaping how we design materials is a valid concept given technological advances in computing. Top-down design of materials, where properties of interest can be used to find new materials through computational modeling, is an attractive methodology compared to trial and error experimentation.
