For me, materials informatics is and will be a useful tool for innovation and transforming industry because we will reduce the effort, time, and cost associated with testing and characterization. However, it will depend on the quality and reliability of the data sources, and the capacity to include processing conditions as a factor in the final result. I would love to learn how materials informatics can be applied to polymers because of their ease of processing and versatility.
