I strongly agree with Gerbrand Ceder about the design of new materials without painstaking experiments, as he said, “Only 1% of compounds are known.” Computation is a major step in identifying these compounds, which might otherwise take us years to discover. With computation, we can screen numerous materials, expose the material’s genome, and make it available to materials engineers for production and/or product enhancement. Indeed, computational materials hold the potential to expedite the process of identifying and developing new materials, thus playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of material science.

i agree with your comments, especially about expediting the development of new materials and how this can shape the future of materials science
