The ab initio calculation method is a valuable tool in the design of functional materials, as it can greatly facilitate the process and improve efficiency. If and only if all the degree of freedom are in the calculated model, one could get right prediction. However, these degrees of freedom do not present themselves readily and require information from experimental observations to be probed effectively. Therefore, a combination of experimental outputs and meticulous analysis of the relevant degrees of freedom is necessary in understanding novel quantum material. By incorporating this information into the model, one can gain a deeper understanding of the underlying physics and ultimately create a functional material. This integrated approach may offer a more effective pathway.
