In the classical system you are comparing the energy of the exact solution with the analytical approximation. In the quantum version, there is more than one analytical approximation for the real solution; this being the Hartree and the H-F approximation. Therefore it is useful to be able to quantify the energy differences between both approximations and between each of the approximations and the true ground state.
