I consider both quantum mechanics (QM) and classical mechanics (CM) to be “ab inito” models. The first principle of QM is the Schrodinger equation and the CM is the Newton equation. Meanwhile, I consider classical electrodynamics as non ab initio. The reason is that the Maxwell equations are independent of each other in explaining physical phenomena.
