ab initio model is begging of the begging

To teach a baby to write, we start with the ABCs, which are the most basic building blocks of language. Similarly, when we build a model, we start with an ab initio model, which means starting with the smallest parts of molecules: atoms, with their electrons and nuclei. As a result, quantum mechanics with the Schrödinger equation, which is considered the underlying mathematical model for all solid state physics, should be considered an ab initio model.
