Quantum mechanics is an ab initio model because, here we start from the Schrodinger’s equation and derive all the properties of any quantum system. Classical mechanics and classical electromagnetism are also ab initio models because there are fundamental equations from where all other theories are built. For classical electromagnetism, its first principles are encoded into the famous Maxwell’s equations for electromagnetism.
