the civil engineer has the underlying law, the problem and the exact solution and also precise tools to build the bridge in one attempt. but materials scientist doesn’t know the exact solution and also doesn’t have precise tools to build the superconductor, even though he has the underlying principle at hand i.e. quantum mechanics
