In QM, particles can be defined as independent in two ways:
– totally independent: the total wave function is a product of the individual wave function
– independent but following the asymmetry axiom: using a slater determinant.Correlation is the difference between exact solution and the independent but asymmetric solution and exchange is the difference between asymmetric and fully independent solution
