    The bridge construction can’t be performed based on trial and error since it is expensive, time taking and manpower-consuming. Also, most of the properties of materials being used in the construction are already known. So the engineer needs to calculate everything prior to the construction whereas in the case of a material scientist it’s not true. A new material with desired properties may take several attempts to make it real.
