I have an apple macbook air with an ARM cpu with 8Gb of ram. This has an 8-core CPU “with 4 performance cores” and “4 efficiency cores”, a 7-core GPU and 16-core Neural Engine. It has a clock speed of 3.2 GHz.
At home I have a desktop I built myself with an i7 cpu, 16 Gb of ram running arch. Nowadays, for programming-like tasks (and thus also for this course), throughout the week I mainly use the old laptop of my mom located at my master thesis desk as some older programs I need for my thesis aren’t fully compatible jet with the ARM architecture. This “old” laptop has an i5 with 8Gb of ram also running arch linux (for none of the linux machines I know the clock speed or number of cores as I currently don’t have acces to those)
