Hello everyone!
My name is Niranjan. I am taking this course in Taiwan, where I am doing a 6-month research internship about energy-efficient synthesis in thermoelectric materials. I am from southern India and I think everyone should visit south India, be it Kerala or Tamilnadu at least once in their life. We also have very distinct cultures, art forms and delicious foods, just like North India.
I have Master’s in Physics specializing in Advanced Materials. I did my Master’s thesis in Half-Heulser thermoelectric materials from CSIR-NPL. With my current internship focusing on oxychalcogenides and high entropy alloys for thermoelectric applications, I fully find myself in the realm of experimental material science. During the initial years of my Master’s, I wanted to pursue a research career in theoretical physics, mainly on quantum mechanics and computational material science and is still driven by that passion. I believe I can use this course to use the computational and theoretical knowledge I gain from this to explore potential methods in optimizing the material properties for energy material applications.
As I am actively looking for a doctoral position, i believe this course will help me to obtain fundamental knowledge that will be useful for my academic career. Thank you for taking the time to read this and once again hello to all!
