Hello!
My name is Kelly (user: ksfunke).
I work in East Alton, Illinois in the United States, from where I take this course.
You should visit sometime to explore the United States. I am near to the Lewis & Clark Confluence Tower which is where the early explorers began their journey to map the western United States.
My background is metallurgy and materials science. I have a Master’s degree in Metallurgy and work as a researcher in an industrial R&D group.
I expect to learn the capabilities of Computational Materials Physics—especially the required boundary conditions and necessary inputs—for doing computational experiments.
My longer term goal—maybe a bit optimistic in my 56th year—is to advance the state of the art of materials discovery in my company. Additionally, I feel indebted to learn and apply knowledge of those who came before me, who worked hard to discover and share fundamental truths.
