Jacob’s Ladder

Jacob’s ladder represents different levels of approximations to find the exchange correlation function. Starting at the lower rung with LDA(Local Density Approximation) the ladder has 5 rungs. each rung takes into consideration the previous approximation and builds on it. As we go up the ladder the accuracy of guessing our exchange correlation functional increase but at the same time it also becomes computationally costly. After the final rung we might reach something called the chemistry heaven where all functionals are defined!
