    Treating the many-body problem as a sum of single-body interactions. First, I would use Newton’s law of graviation to calculate the interactions of each planet with the sun (external potential). Second, calculate the interactions between one planet and the average static distribution of all the other planets (the Hartree term). And finally, add the unkown ‘external correlation’ functional to tie the single-body to the many-body problem.
