I think going forward computational will play a huge role in the discovery and creation of new materials. I think the transition will be difficult for some scientists in the field, but ultimately lead to better characterisation but also less time, and money. I think in some instances these concept is already at play, but it will take some years to get other aspects up to the level of experimental results.
