Opinion about materials from thought

I agree that it might be possible to find a lot of new materials using only computation. However, I think it would still be useful to eventually verify the properties of these materials experimentally. It seems to be a realistic vision, as the example given in the video was already created this way. I don’t really have an idea how far this lies into the future, because I think that will depend on how interested some big companies and institutions will be to focus on this subject. Some worldwide problems like the energy transition might accelerate this process.

Good points and I agree completely, although, funding must also come from governmental institutions as companies tend to patent or keep the most important materials secret, which is a big hit to scientific advancement.
