    A solid is a material in which the atoms are bound together with some strong interactions such that they are not able to freely move.

    As mentioned in the video, ‘nuclei and electron clouds’ would be slightly better than ‘atoms’. Also I would add that the objects in a solid have fixed equilibrium positions about which they can vibrate. This is slightly different from not being able to freely move, which is something that atoms in for example a H2O molecule cannot do either, but that is not necessarily a solid.
