A solid is defined as a group of lattice points arranged periodically called crystalline or no periodical arrangement called amorphous where in each lattice points atoms or group of atoms can be accommodated. In a solid the intermolecular space is very very small but force of attraction is very high. A solid can be well studied by investigating its physical properties like specific heat, conductivity, resist ivory, structural and magnetic phase transition in different range of temperature and pressure etc.
