The thought of designing tailor-made materials from your seat is intriguing. Computational methods may be not what they used to be, but they seem to be far from ideal. In time, when the compuational methods give results which are in better agreement with experiment, we can be more confident in designing materials, which will come out of the lab the way we expect them to be.
