Quantum mechanics is an ab initio model since the Schrodinger equation is the underlying mathematical model that describes the behavior of atomic and sub-atomic objects.
for the same reason, classical mechanics is an ab initio model since we can use Newton’s laws as a mathematical model to describe the behavior of macro-sized objects.
About classical electromagnetism, I’m not sure if it’s an ab initio model or not.
