In these hypothetical scenarios, it takes more time for the materials engineer to complete their requested task due to the underlying formal systems which govern the respective fields of the construction and materials engineers.
The construction engineer’s work is grounded in classical mechanics, a field in which most problems are already solved – making it easy for the construction engineer to complete their deliverables on their first attempt.
Whereas for the materials engineer, their work proves to be more of a challenge, as they must navigate the laws of quantum mechanics.
