Quantum-based calculations are calculations beyond human minds. Yes, they are from theory but they are not solvable without using high-processing computers. That’s why they are considered a simulation activity because they are now being applied in the realms of a simulated environment.
On the other hand, people argue that because quantum-based calculations are from first principles, they retain their “theory-ness”. A flour is still a flour even it turns into bread.
