For the first sentence, I would say many tasks are indeed computations required, QM is quite developed as an theory. A lot of computational tasks are to be done when computer performance is improving and methods getting better.
However, for second case, I would also say it is understandable some have different opinion. QM is not fully mature, and new theoretical aspects may bring essential efficiency improvements for computations.
