I believe we are not yet at the point where theory or computation describes perfectly reality. Ultimately, reality, or more precisely the applicability of something is decided by experiment. However, theory and computation provide the perfect tool for making educated guesses, to explore the landscape of possibilities, which is impossible to survey by experiment. As there are so many things possible to experimentally analyse, one is obliged to make educated guesses, to decide in what ideas we put time and resources, rendering this procedure crucial.
