I agree with this definitions description of how a solid is the closest atoms are forced together, which I found to be missing in the video. However as the video points out, we have to stop thinking about atoms as atoms once they are inside a solid, because the system overall is better described with just the interactions between positive nuclei and negative electrons, rather than atoms.
